Recovery Friendly Workplace is a nationwide movement emphasizing within the workplace. Here in Wisconsin this work is funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Program and implemented by Biehl Bridges to Recovery in partnership with UW Madison Extension. Working together with businesses to add another layer of care and support for employees as well as improving employment outcomes for people in recovery is at the heart of the program. This service and designation are offered completely free of charge to any Wisconsin business. Becca Busseneau Peer Recovery Coach at Biehl’s Bridges to Recovery says, “at Biehls Bridges to Recovery is we are implementing this program and it is basically a support and education type of program.”
“One of the most important pieces of this program is stigma reduction in the community. So the more businesses that we have, like Waupaca here in Marinette, NWTC Campus, and the Marinette – Menominee Chamber of Commerce recently. The more of those businesses that we have step up and get certified the more it’s in the news, it’s in the fore front of peoples minds. It’s letting it be known that these businesses are supportive of people and giving second chances.” Says, Busseneau
