With the roster of candidates now set in stone, the residents of the Town of Peshtigo will get to hear from the board hopefuls about where they stand on key issues. Yesterday, Jennifer Friday, who is running against incumbent Cindy Boyle for Chairperson of the Board and Jimmer Wortner who is running against Randy Schrader for the Supervisor 2 position, held an open conversation with town residents at the Peshtigo Town Hall. Friday and Wortner discussed openly their disappointments with the current regime regarding the handling of the PFAS with JCI/TYCO, their use of ARPA funds, and lack of transparency. But overall, the conversation was how and what Friday and Wortner would fix once elected onto the board. Friday says, “I think we had great discussion. There was some contention here and there, but you’re always going to have that. You can’t make everybody happy and that’s okay. You can disagree, but not be completely disagreeable.”
Wortner says, “this was the first time that I’ve seen anyone hold something like this for a town position.”
Friday and Wortner will hold two additional open conversations with town residents that will be held at the Peshtigo Town Hall on Wednesday, February 1st from 6 to 8pm and again on Friday, February 3rd from 9am to 11am.
